You’re definitely…more hard core fan than I am,…I’ll…

2008 was when I got into soccer, before that I didn’t care about any sports really. I was staying with a host family in Germany during the Euro Cup that year. They taught me all about soccer and I watched all the games and got really into it and really invested and I was really naive and thought Germany were going to win and… nope. But, yeah, it’s still the only sport I care about. And even if Germany played terribly I would still love/support them. Anon’s logic about supporting a team because they’re good makes no sense.

crankinuptheevil replied to your post: I don’t know what you hate the Spain NT, they play really good and they don’t evern comit a lot of faults like others teams do so…

I have nothing against Spain, but I’m tired of them winning everything. But I’m upset with Italy for beating Germany, so that’s why I chose not to care who wins.

I’ll probably never get over 2008, to be honest. Yes, Spain are a great team, but there are a lot of great teams. That doesn’t mean I have to support them. I have nothing against people who do. I have friends who do. But, as I said, I’m not going to support them just because they are good… That doesn’t make any sense.

And then there’s this fresh wound from Italy, so, yeah, I don’t care who wins. Probably won’t even bother to watch the final, to be honest.

Yes, of course, why didn’t I see it before? Spain is a good team, therefore I have to like them. I forgot that those were the rules of life.

(P.S., this is why. I thought it was pretty obvious, but maybe you weren’t around.

I called my dad seeking comfort. Oops.

“It’s only a game,” he says.
