Today I was at greeter and this woman was pushing her son, who was crying and maybe about nine years old, towards me and basically demanding that I tell him that it wasn’t scary. I don’t consider it a scary ride and I will tell children that it’s not and tell them what it is to try to convince them to want to ride, but there’s a point where they’re just scared and you shouldn’t push it. But then the woman was like “little kids go on this, right?” and I was like, “sure…” and then she was like “little girls go on it, right?” And I was just like, “um…”
Like, she was trying to get me to be like, “oh yeah, little girls go on it, and obviously little girls are inferior.” Like, it’s not enough to just say that small children go on it, specifically little girls being somehow “braver” than this boy was supposed to convince him to go on. I just.
why haven’t they made a tv show about pre-code hollywood in the 20s/30s kinda like broadwalk empire meets Chicago but really a lot like “gold diggers of 1933” like the story of struggling showgirls and actors and directors during the great depression just trying the make it in the film industry but also mob gangs are involved too because that would be totally cool damn someone needs to write this
